Often seen as a skill reserved for those who are detail oriented and are good with their hands, this workshops endeavors to inspire new and would-be weavers to create beautiful, wearable works of art using lauhala.
This weaving workshop will take participants through the process of lauhala cultivation, gathering, and preparation.
The significance of lauhala throughout the pacific is prominent. Participants will learn through hands-on instruction and weave a Makana they can take home and wear.
