At Te Fare Upa Rau (Le Conservatoire Artistique de Polynésie Française) The Artistic Conservatory of Tahiti, Polynesia, the students are offered a rigorous training in many traditional Tahitian arts in addition to other Western arts. We had the opportunity to spend the day with the youth and take classes in Te Reo Tahiti, Drumming, Ori Tahiti, and Tumu Himene. What an awesome experience. The culture is definitely in good hands and has a bright future ahead.

Another highlight was to be able to offer the students a Hula lecture demonstration with Kumu Hula, fellow Culture Bearer, Aloha ‘Aina and Kia’i Mauna Lanakila Mangauil. They were able to see the overlap in our cultural values and how we keep and share our traditions and stories, through our practice.
